1 grumble on the bigger of the 2 maps enclosed Pilatus was listed as free with pass IT WAS NOT. had to pay 36 swiss francs. thats 50% .All other travel was super fantastic . SO EASY WITH THE PASS. We even went on the Goldenpass Line without a reservation from Lucerne to Montreaux. This was my 9th trip to Switzerland and I definitely recommend buying a pass before you go. We used buses trains and boats with ease.

The only drawback using the Flexi Pass is at times you don’t get full use of the discounts available because they are only available on the day of travel.

"Very convenient. Validity never questioned."

The pass gave us easy access to all trains and ferry rides that we needed, as well as discounted access to mountain trains like the one up to Les Rochers-de-Naye. Although we did not use all our travel days, the convenience of just being able to hop onto public transport without having to work out how to use a ticket machine made the extra cost worthwhile. We also crossed over North Italy using the pass with only a small additional cost.

"Great value considering you can travel on the most scenic routes in the world in comfort on a great rail system and throw in ferry and local transport as well."

Everyone who enjoys train travel should try to experience travelling through Switzerland by rail at least once. The scenery is incredibly beautiful. The trains are punctual, clean, comfortable in both first and second class and the rail staff are friendly and helpful. The classic trains/routes are unforgettable once travelled, i.e. The Glacier Express, the Bernina Express, Gotthard Tunnel Express (with a ferry trip across Lake Lucern as a bonus) and the Golden Pass Train from Lucerne to Montreaux. My wife and I covered a lot of ground in three weeks and were left with one unused day on our 15 day flexi-pass, due to my bad planning. Our travel would have cost far more without the pass and buying tickets for each individual trip would have been a hassle. The ferries are a relaxing way to travel around the big lakes, stopping off at many picturesque towns along the shoreline. One tip, travel as lightly as possible. Dragging large suitcases on and off trains can be tiresome. I thoroughly recommend RailPlus for their service in arranging passes and booking seats on the trains which require a reservation and or supplement. Bon voyage??

"The best and most sensible way to travel throughout Switzerland."

The Swiss Travel Pass Flex is an essential part of any trip to Switzerland. It covers trains, trams, busses, boats and allows free or discounted entry to many galleries and museums. The Pass also provides for a significant discount on services such as cable cars and some mountain railways. Being flexible means that you can choose when you travel - the days do not have to be consecutive. Transport services are excellent throughout Switzerland but quite expensive. The Swiss Travel Pass represents a considerable saving for overseas visitors to Switzerland. The Pass is also very convenient - on most services you simply get on board without needing to queue for a ticket. I have used the Swiss Travel Pass Flex three times and thoroughly recommend it. There is no downside to this Pass. I have always found Swiss transport staff to be welcoming and courteous when they see you are travelling with a Swiss Travel Pass. They all speak in English as well as their own languages. Be sure to order the Flex Pass as it provides the most versatile opportunity to enjoy the beautiful country of Switzerland.

The Flex pass can deliver real savings if you plan ahead, pay "cash" on low cost travel days and use the pass on high cost days such as the Glacier Express.

"Absolutely ideal for moving around Switzerland on trains."

We found the Swiss Travel Pass Flex ideal for multiple train journeys in Switzerland. We were also able to use it on ferries and for museum etc admissions. There was no problem with train conductors acknowledging the pass. One only has to simply enter the first date of travel to validate. Subsequent dates are entered on the day of travel. Purchase of the pass in Australia prior to travel was very easy. Swiss trains are clean, fast , punctual and plentiful and cover most regions so would recommend pre-purchase .
