Payment & Ticketing

Conditions:

  • Deposit: a $500 per person, non-refundable security deposit is required prior to confirmation with the full balance payable 65 days prior to the departure date.
  • Late Bookings: bookings made within 65 days require full payment at time of booking. Late bookings that include any paper tickets may incur an expedited document delivery fee.
  • Amendments: a fee of $50.00 per person (per change) will be charged for any alteration or revision made to a confirmed reservation. Any amendment may result in the loss of the confirmed rail seat or Sleeping car accommodation. Rail Plus cannot guarantee the availability of requested changes. Amendments after the documents have been issued will be treated as cancellations and new documents may be required.
  • Documents: these are mostly issued as e-tickets. There are very few exceptions - some Amtrak tickets must be collected at the train station and some sightseeing tickets may only be available as paper tickets. Reissue & delivery fees may apply for lost or stolen paper tickets.

We also recommend that you take out suitable travel insurance to cover (as a minimum) the costs incurred if you cancel your trip.

Cancellation & Amendments

  • 65+ days: Loss of deposit
  • 54 - 15 days: 40% cancellation fee
  • Less than 15 days: 100% cancellation fee
